Learn Together & Anti-Bullying Assemblies
Last Friday we had a most enjoyable assembly for the junior classes hosted by the senior infant classes. We learnt all about reducing, reusing and recycling. This message of being kind to our environment and making sure we mind our planet will help us along the way to our 6th Green Flag. Thank you to all who came along, we know you enjoyed the hard work put in by all the children and staff. Thank you kindly, Jen & JP
CETNS & Intel Mini-Scientist Days
Congratulations to all the children throughout the school for their hard work during last week’s focus on Science. Thank you in particular to the staff that organised both days and in particular to the 5th & 6th class teachers for their work on the Intel projects with the children. It was a fantastic day in the hall and the children prepared and presented their projects particularly well. Congratulations to Robin & Lobaba who were runners up & also our winning team Diarmuid & Luca from Marie-Therese’s 6th class. Good luck boys in the next round.
On the 19th of November the judges were to come in to see our projects. Some people came in at 8:30am to set up the tables. At 9:30am the judges came. They took a side of the hall each and saw every project and they took about five minutes on each group. They took everyone’s folder with them as they went around. They came back an hour later to announce the winner. The winner was on CO2 emissions. The project that came second was on how oil spills harm wildlife. Everyone had a great day! – By Garbhan Healy
5th Classes at Draíocht
The children from Liz & Siobhán’s 5th classes went to a workshop in Draíocht learning all about archaeology. They had a fantastic time and both classes were very impressed they could touch the artefacts and even try on some of the clothing.
Thank you to Siobhán & Liz for arranging the visit, in particular, as it was such a busy week with the Science work.
