As part of our Biodiversity 2012 Project we planted over a thousand young whips along two of the ugly concrete walls surrounding the field. Thanks to all the parents and children who turned out with their spades and helped planting. Equally important was the hard work of protecting the young trees with a big layer of mulch.
All this would not have been possible without the financial assistance of the Board of Management and the professional assistance of landscape gardener, tree surgeon and “walking nature dictionary” Graeme Cahill and his team. Go raibh mile maith agaibh!
We planted Oak, Beech, Birch, Hazel, Alder, Spindle, Goat Willow, Guelder Rose, Dog Rose and Crab Apple.
