Dublin Climate Action Week (#DCAW26) takes place from 11th–17th May 2026. This year’s programme also coincides with National Bike Week and National Biodiversity Week, creating a fantastic opportunity for families to explore climate action, active travel and the natural world together.
In CETNS, we will host a superhero themed cycle/ walk/ scoot/ park 'n stride to school this Wednesday 13th May 2026.
Throughout the week in our area, there will be workshops, interactive activities and demonstrations designed to show how everyday choices can help create a more sustainable future while celebrating Dublin’s biodiversity.
Some family-friendly events taking place locally include:
• LEGO® Family Workshop with brick artist Jessica Farrell
Tuesday 12th May, 4:00–6:00pm – Blanchardstown Library
A creative, hands-on workshop for families with children aged 7–13, exploring sustainable living and biodiversity through LEGO® building activities.
Each family team can include up to four people (minimum one child and one adult). All materials are provided.
Free admission, but advance booking is essential as places are limited.
• Film Screening: Ocean with David Attenborough
Wednesday 13th May, 6:00pm – Blanchardstown Library
A free screening of the award-winning documentary highlighting the beauty, fragility and protection of our oceans.
• Sunset Cycle in Phoenix Park
Wednesday 13th May, 7:45–9:00pm
Join a relaxed 5km evening cycle through Phoenix Park with music provided by iBike Dublin.
Meeting point: The Phoenix Monument, Chesterfield Avenue.
