As part of Engineers Week at CETNS, pupils in 2nd Class were delighted to welcome some very special visitors to their classroom — parents who work as engineers! 👷♀️👷♂️
Rocco, Seojin and Stephen shared what it’s like to be an engineer, the kinds of problems they solve, and how creativity, teamwork, and curiosity are all important parts of their jobs.
The class had the opportunity to see the benefits of mechanical engineering first-hand through a demonstration of a 3D printer. They also learned about Ireland’s floating offshore wind projects and how engineers are helping to create green energy for the future. In addition, the pupils were introduced to the engineering behind electronic systems used in aircraft and aerospace vehicles.
The children loved hearing about real-world engineering projects and had the chance to ask lots of thoughtful questions.
A big thank you to our parent engineers for taking the time to inspire our students and show them how engineering helps shape the world around us. You never know — we may have some future engineers in our classes! 🚀
