In our latest visit from Mouse, we learned all about hibernation and how animals migrate in Winter.
First, we bundled sticks together using elastic bands and placed them along the fence where the trees have been recently cut back so that insects can hibernate between them. We will check on them in Spring!
We also hid our hedgehogs (plastic bottles filled with warm water) around the yard using dry leaves and sunlight and then tested to see which group's bottle had the warmest water after some time by pouring some on our judges' (Leoine and Tom) wrists, Grúpa Glas were clear winners! Unfortunately, Grúpa dearg learned a lesson in safe places to hibernate as their hedgehog was taken away in a wheelbarrow by Timmy!
We also challenged students to become birds (Adele and Liam) to fly south seeking warmth whilst being blindfolded! Lastly, we played some chasing games where our foxes (Izzy and Adam) enlarged their territory by hunting down their prey! We are so looking forward to Mouses' next visit to our class!
