Help with Irish For Parents

24-November-17

Irish (Gaeilge) is taught daily across all classes. In the early years, the focus is on building speaking and listening skills. Children take part in games, songs and rhymes, while learning vocabulary linked to everyday themes such as family, food, clothing, shopping and special occasions.

As they progress through the school, pupils begin to read and write in Irish. They continue to develop their oral language skills, enabling them to hold conversations with their peers, speak with confidence and respond to questions on a range of topics.
