Building Eco-Homes in 5th Class
Written by Fionn and Neasa
We were learning about how to keep our environment clean. We read
about it in our Geography and Science book. After learning about it,
we decided to make our own eco-homes from scratch. We got into
groups and got started, it took us two weeks to completely finish our
houses. We needed to design it on paper before we made them,
making sure they were definitely eco-friendly. When we started
crafting, we needed lots of materials including things like cardboard,
tinfoil, paper and (for us) styrofoam.
Making them was difficult. We even needed a hot glue gun to glue
most of the pieces together. We teamed up and each played a role in
making them.
The groups were…
1. Neasa, Fionn, Yusuf and Lina
2. Ianis, Fionn, Emma and Erin
3. Mahrosh, Zaynab, Olivier and Blaise
4. Jennifer, Aimee, Rayan and Pengfei
5.Talib, Nikhil, Cara and Patrick
6. Umar, Tamsin, Cillian and Alex
We had six amazing groups and six amazing eco-homes!
Once we finished we presented them to the senior assembly where
we told everyone a little bit about our house.
After that, Paula asked Fionn and I to write an article about our houses. She thought they
were really impressive (thank you Paula). Hope you liked hearing
about our work. Thank you
