4th classes were delighted to meet Mouse from OWLS, the children's nature charity. Mouse runs a nature awareness and forest school programme for 4th class in our school each year. During his first monthly visit, Mouse taught us very interesting facts about all sorts of Irish wildlife including shield bugs, foxes, hedgehogs and pine martens. We found out that the pine marten is one of the most elusive mammals in Ireland and are incredibly hard to find as they live solitarily and are mainly a nocturnal species! The classes had many questions for Mouse. We look forward to his next visit when we explore the biodiversity around our local area on foot.
