A few weeks ago first class received some new class pets...CATERPILLARS! We have observed them closely making their chrysalis and turning into butterflies. We learned all about the life cycle of the butterfly. We researched and read information about butterflies and we even made our own fact files.
We found it very interesting that butterflies are symmetrical. We painted our own symmetrical butterflies. We also drew butterflies and labelled the body parts. We have really enjoyed having our class pets and we have been feeding them lots of fruit! We had to release our butterflies back into the wild but you never know we might spot them flying past our window :)
