Autumn Nature Walk
Sarah’s 2nd class had a wonderful time on their Autumn nature walk along the Royal Canal with David today. We spotted colourful autumn leaves, juicy apples and pears and smelled lavender in our outdoor classroom. On our journey, we noticed lots of rosehip bushes with their bright red berries outside the tennis club. Along the canal, we saw some barges, ripe blackberries and ash trees which are used to make hurls. We also spotted some mallard ducks, a water hen and two beautiful swans swimming peacefully along. They seemed to be very hungry and happily munched on the corn that Cahir brought for them to eat. We saw plenty of nettles that some brave children touched! Thank you David for the informative walk.
