Éadaoin's First Class have taken part in the Picker Pals initiative this year, thanks to Elaine who helped us to get set up. We have really enjoyed the activities involved, including learning about the harmful affects of littering, participating in zoom calls with the Picker Pals themselves, growing peas in the classroom and learning about how we can help our environment by following safe litter picking rules. We read the Picker Pals book in class, completed the fun book activities and learned the catchy Picker Pals song. A Picker Pack was sent home every weekend with a different child to engage in safe litter picking in their local community. Thanks to all the parents who have helped facilitate their child's involvement over the weekends and who were the chosen Picker Pals partner too at times! We are sharing some photos for everyone to see.
