Communications: In continuing to progress the development of the communications policy the Board would like to thank all stakeholders for completing the recent survey about communication within the school. Communications: In continuing to progress the development of the communications policy the Board would like to thank all parents for completing the recent survey about communication within the school. We are currently surveying all other stakeholders in the school with a view to collating all data gathered. The Board also finalised the agreed complaints procedure for the school which is now on the school website http://www.cetns.ie/Page/Policies/687/Index.html. We will be in touch again soon and thank you for your participation.

Fundraising: Our next fundraising event will take place on 14th February in the school. More details will follow shortly in the school newsletter about our Red Day fundraiser which involves everyone wearing red clothing. All funds raised will go towards general school funds to help with funding educational resources for the school.

Health & Safety: In line with child protection measures the Board recently highlighted access to the school being too open. As previously mentioned a fence will be erected to address this. Work on this project will take place during the midterm break.

Staffing shortages: All schools are experiencing staffing shortages at this time of year due to illnesses and the Board would particularly like to thank all staff for making every effort to minimise disruption to children’s learning.

Primary Language Curriculum Day: A reminder the school will close February 18th to facilitate staff training as per Department of Education & Skills requirements for Primary Language Curriculum Training 2018/2019. Please note this date is additional to school closures already noted on the school calendar.

Agreed Report 29/11/2018

The Board of Management met with an external facilitator to further discuss communications within the school alongside their regular board meeting.

Communications: In order to progress the development of the communications policy the Board will be in touch with parents shortly to gather information about communication within the school. We hope you will participate in the survey to enable us to put together a communications policy in a collaborative, consultative way. The Board discussed communications with the Parent-Teacher Association.

Fundraising: Recent events such as the Cake Sale, Sponsored Walk and Winter Fair were commended. We would like to thank all who got involved in raising funds for the school as well as encouraging the children in such a positive way as part of the school community. A particular word of thanks to the Winter Fair Committee led by Ian Brangan for all their hard work and the staff of CETNS for the wonderful art displays which helped raise funds and raise spirits of all in attendance.

Health & Safety: Some concerns were raised about incidents in the school car park recently and the Board would ask all adults to be mindful of being respectful around the school at all times. In line with child protection measures the Board has noted access to the school is too open and in order to address this it has been decided to erect a fence limiting access to the open areas around the school.

Primary Language Curriculum Day: The school will close February 18th to facilitate staff training as per Department of Education & Skills requirements for Primary Language Curriculum Training 2018/2019. Please note this date is additional to school closures already noted on the school calendar.

Thank you.

Agreed Report 23rd October 2018

The Board of Management had their third meeting since the start of this school year. The Board of Management considered the WSE report and decided to address communication as the first priority. We will put together a communications policy in a collaborative, consultative way with all stakeholders in the school community. This work will begin in the very near future. Thank you.

Agreed Report 3rd October 2018

The Board of Management met on Wednesday October 3rd and the following items were among those discussed :
Work is well underway to address the issues raised in the WSE. The Board of Management is continuing to work with Educate Together to achieve this. The entire school community will be kept informed of the progress.

In order to facilitate direct communications between the school community and the Board, a letterbox for communications to the Chairperson of the Board will be installed in the school lobby. This box will be opened by the Chairperson and correspondence will be responded to in a timely manner.

Funding was approved to replace the roof in the prefab and this work is due to commence this month.

In the current environment all schools, especially those in Dublin, have been challenged by the difficulty in replacing staff. The Board of Management is very conscious of the impact that this has on our pupils and staff and is working to both minimize this impact and replace staff as quickly as possible.

The Board of Management has asked that the ISM team meet at least once a month.
