Dear Parents/Guardians,

We hope you enjoyed the break and are refreshed for the coming weeks. We hope you have downloaded the CETNS App as this will keep you updated on all CETNS news and events. We will therefore no longer need to be as reliant on the text-a-parent facility which will be a cost saving for the school. The app can be downloaded from Google Play free of charge. Just look for the iClassCMS app, install it on your phone/tablet look for Castleknock Educate Together and create a user. You will be asked to put in your child’s name and class also.

In case you may have missed it please see our former Principal Dermot Higgins on the Late Late Show after his return from a record breaking trip around the world.

Art Exhibition

It's that time of year again! CETNS is bursting at the seams with the most amazing artists and we want to show all of our wonderful art to you. Our annual Art Exhibition takes place next week from Monday to Thursday and we would love as many visitors as possible to come to our gallery! The gallery is open from 9am on Thursday until 2 pm Friday to facilitate visitors. You will see lots of exciting pieces of art from all strands of the Visual Arts Curriculum. Please write something about our exhibition in the comments book too. We look forward to seeing you there, the children especially enjoy reading the comments afterwards.

Thank you.

Easter Bunny Visit

Peter and Susan's junior infants worked very hard to make these beautiful baskets. It involved a lot of colouring, cutting out and sticking. We were so surprised on Friday when we realised that the Easter Bunny had visited our classes and left some delicious treats in our baskets. We will enjoy these very much during our 2 weeks holidays.

STEM

The STEM Project for April is to design your own game or toy using a cereal box.

We look forward to seeing your creations!

Leprechaun Traps

Elaborate Leprechaun traps have been set in CETNS over the past few weeks. Special features include leprechaun friendly decor, ladders for ease of access and the use of enticing gold coins as bait. Secret trapdoors, box traps with sticks and others using pulleys were some of the trap designs used. Our creative leprechaun trap engineers include: JJ (Sarah’s 2nd), Malachy (Sinead’s Senior Infants), Sanvi (Conor’s 2nd), Aoife (Peter’s Junior Infants) and Anthony (Conor’s 2nd). Josh (Karen’s 3rd), James (Sarah’s 2nd) and Jake (Sinead’s Senior Infants). Anais (Aidan’s 4th) and Rian (Ruth’s Senior Infants) managed to capture one! We hope he tells you where he buried his pot of gold! See the STEM section of our website for pictures of our leprechaun traps!

Parent Teacher Association

The next PTA meeting will take place in CETNS School Hall at 7.30pm on Wednesday 18th April. This meeting is open to all parents and staff. After NPC training the PTA decided to open its meetings to all parents in the school. As the new chairperson I’d encourage as many as possible to come along to this meeting. It is important for the PTA to look to the future and how best to work collaboratively to support the school for the benefit of all our children. I am looking forward to meeting with as many as possible on the night. Tonya Leonard, Chairperson PTA
